Katie Doherty is, first and foremost, a writer.

Her practice explores symbolism and liminal spaces through writing, visual art and cartomancy.

Guided by the unconscious, her work moves between worlds.

She draws on Jungian psychology, mysticism, beauty and horror, surrealism and experimental literature.

From 2020 to 2026, she edited The Black Flowers Arts Journal and ran its accompanying independent press. She retired both to focus on her own writing, art and reading tarot for private clients.
